Striker Asamoah Gyan’s 21st minute goal has put a depleted Ghana side through to the final of the African Nations Cup after beating Nigeria on Thursday in Luanda.

The Rennes player outjumped his marker inside the box to powerfully head home a goal.

Nigeria had all the chances to equalize but erratic shooting upfront and tight marking from Ghana have thwarted their efforts.

Ghana will play the winner of the Egypt-Algeria encounter on Sunday.
