Ghanalinx Album Review: Reezon’s I Am The Reezon

Reezon

The Ghanalinx team have been following Reezon for a while and when the “I Am The Reezon” cd came across my desk, we were expecting a fusion of hip life and hip hop like Reezon’s counterparts in Ghana. However, Reezon’s Magnum Opus is a journey through soulful beats, intricately woven rhymes, and tales of abolotsie life.

PREVIEW I AM THE REEZON HERE

In true African fashion the Intro has a soulful African beat with poignant poetry to compliment the music. Which leds in to the piano riff heavyReezon and soulful Don’t Let It Go, setting the tone for the album. Stand out tracks like Drinks On MeHands Up, and Make Way are all bangers to heat the clubs up this summer.

Yaa AsentewaaCommort 4 Derr, and Mic Check did not live up to the rest of the material on the album but tracks like bonus track Kurruption more than make up for the filler. Hands down, Kurruption was our favorite track in the office.

“I Am The Reezon” is full of soulful and exciting music, as opposed to just a bunch of songs – an great debut for Reezon. Though in some cases Reezon’s vocals take a back seat to his beats, he holds his own, and we can’t wait to hear more from him.

“Fresh’s Picks”
