After releasing his debut song “Ahe yede” which went on to become the biggest song in 2010, many thought Nana Boroo was going to be a one hit wonder but I think with follow ups like ‘Bebia soso’ and “Big Mama’, Boroo will not be known as a one his wonder.

With his second album yet to be released, perhaps it’s a bit too early to give Ghana’s undisputed fastest rapper a living legend status. But judging by his achievements within the short period, one just can’t help but agree with the lyrics of his new single, ‘Living Legend’ featuring TV3 Mentor winner and Project Fame West Africa runner-up, Kesse.

The single highlights the struggles that upcoming artists go through and encourages aspiring artists not to give up using Sarkodie as a case in point. Through it all, the rapper gives praise to God for bringing him success in the face of several adversities – both physical and perhaps spiritual. The single sees Srakodie at his usual best with punchy lines interlaced with some wits.

On the second verse Sarkodie contends that he is on a mission akin to a messenger of God, and in future he would be cited for his exemplary life and achievements in the industry to advise others. He also stated that he has gotten to his current state due to hard work and his good upbringing.

Sarkodie also admonishes Ghanaians to celebrate and idolize their own artists. The deep Twi lyrics addressing the issue which is dear to the rapper could be translated and paraphrased as follows: “ Up till now we don’t have role models in Ghana…how come after all the suffering we go through for our fans we don’t get appreciated? You should help us because 50 Cent represents his country, USA… we live in Ghana and so we rap the Ghana way”.

Kesse follows up with the theme on the chorus and his bridge. The chorus goes like this: “If you’re dreaming then dream big…we’re all humans but different dreams…was a hustler building my dreams… see the strong shall survive…heaven knows my good works…you can do it believe in yourself…was a hustler building my dreams and now I’m a living legend…”

Ghanaian hiphop act and BET Awards nominee, D-Black has been dropping hints of possible collaborations with US rap stars on his Twitter page since visiting the US for the BET Awards and staying after to record with Ghanaian Billboard topping international music producer, Coptic among other things. It appears that the rapper and his Black Avenue Muzik (B.A.M) label is connecting with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Cash Money (YMCMB) label after both parties met up in L.A during the BET Awards.

D-Black recently tweeted about the YMCMB/B.A.M connection and his label’s youngest signee, Dee Moneey collaborating with Young Money’s Lil Chuckee. This collaboration between the youngest artists on both labels will be a follow up to Dee Moneey’s smash first single, “Kpokpo O Body”.

The B.A.M and Young Money Crew were spotted on the set of D-Black / Dee Moneey “Team Spirit” video shoot in Los Angeles where Lil Chuckee and Dee Moneey spoke about their new collaboration a music video in the works.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUYetg3on-A

Black Avenue Muzik is surely connecting in various ways than one as D-Black is also set to drop a YMCMB Collaboration soon. Could it be with Drake, Mack Maine, Cory Gunz, Nicki Minaj or even Lil Wayne himself? It is also rumoured that D-Black and Dee Moneey are working with David Guetta on dance versions of some of their songs. In other related news, the music video for Dee Moneey’s ‘Kpokpo O Body’ is set to drop next month.

[ QUEST: K-unit is your stage name . K-unit does it mean. is it a [...]

[

QUEST: K-unit is your stage name . K-unit does it mean. is it a group too?

ANS: K-UNIT means Kwahu United and its a group

QUEST: How is the hip life battle treating you?

ANS: As upcoming artistes we find it very difficult in recording music without a producer and also many presenters in Ghana do not play the promo cd’s. Also some engineers do not respect us cos we r underground musicians.

QUEST: When did you start doing music ?

ANS: We started in 1999 at Kwahu.

QUEST: How many songs have you recorded and released so far ?

ANS: We have recorded 13 tracks but has released only one of them that’s ”i no go pay”

QUEST: Ghana has vast talent . Who do you take to be your best male and female musicians ?

ANS: Guru and Mzbel

QUEST: Beefing is the order of the day . Which musicians are you beefing with currently or have a problem with ?

ANS: No we don’t have any beef with any musicians and don’t want too have too.

QUEST:Are you signed to any music label and if yes how is this helping you?

ANS: No boss we’ve not signed for any label yet.

QUEST: Where do you see yourself in three years from now?

ANS: By next three years we would be on top of the best of musicians in the world and we will be representing GH for real

QUEST: The title of the song ‘i no go pay’ , why did you choose that title and what does it mean to you?

ANS: Boss u know in this world most women rely on men but still not faithful. we took ”I NO PAY” at the tittle to tell the women we wont pay if they aren’t faithful to we the guys.

QUEST: Are there any artists you look forward to working with in the future ?

ANS: Yes we r looking forward to work with some artiste like Sarkodie, Bradez, Eazzy, Wande Coal of Nigeria and Jay-z of U.S

QUEST: In your opinion , how does being a solo artist differ from being a part of a group ? Which do you prefer ?

ANS: From my opinion, solo artiste is one person making music but for the group you know two heads a better than. Being part of a group with one aim helps cos u can share ideas in writing the music. I prefer being in the group than a single artiste.

QUEST: What do you hope fans will take away from this song ?

ANS: We hope our fans will take our message thats ” I NO GO PAY” meaning they should be-careful of unfaithful women or money lovers

QUEST: What is something most people don ’ t know about K-unit ?

ANS: Most people do not know the meaning of K-UNIT and our aim

QUEST: Fans want to know , besides your new single what ’ s next for you?

ANS: Besides our new single, we will be coming up with a lot of interesting titles concerning personal life’s of people

QUEST: What upcoming projects can we look forward to ?

ANS: We willl be bring a lot of underground musicians to the industries so look forward to that.
